San Diego’s Comic-Con festivities wrapped up in style with Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive closing night bash, held at Float at the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday, July 27. The VIP-only poolside party was the perfect finale to the four-day convention, attracting a host of celebrities who turned out to celebrate.
Among the stars gracing the event were cast members from The Boys, The Rookie, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, and Family Guy, who all mingled and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The event was co-presented by Peacock, highlighting their upcoming historical drama, Those About to Die, featuring Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, and Tom Hughes.
Patrick Gomez, EW’s editor-in-chief and general manager, reflected on the significance of this year's event. “Just like the superheroes it celebrates, San Diego Comic-Con (and its devoted attendees) faced monumental challenges over the past few years: First, a global pandemic, then, a historic double-strike that wreaked havoc on 2023 programming,” Gomez said. “But never count a superhero (or their fans) out. For the first time since 2019, it feels like Comic-Con is truly back in full force — we love a good comeback story.”
The party also served as a promotional platform for Peacock’s historical drama, Those About to Die, featuring a star-studded cast including Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, and Tom Hughes. The drama was highlighted as a key project in Peacock’s lineup, adding an extra layer of excitement to the night. Guests were treated to an evening of glitz and glamour, with a guest list that included
